关于作者 About the Author

张玉新 Yuxin Zhang

身兼数职的斜杠学者：大学里带研究生、做科研，企业里推量产安全方案，创业公司里带团队采集全球最大规模的航测自然驾驶数据集之一。凌晨4点回复国内邮件，上午9点推进英国的研究，下午3点准时出现在学校门口接儿子。他在英国独自带娃的一年里发现，育儿和自动驾驶是同一个问题——都是在一个个不可预测的场景中，学会什么时候介入，什么时候放手。这本书就是他和5岁儿子Lucky在纽卡斯尔的探究日志。 A slash-career academic juggling multiple roles: supervising graduate students and publishing research at a university, driving production-ready safety solutions at an automotive tech company, and leading a startup that has built one of the world's largest aerial naturalistic driving datasets. At 4 a.m. he answers emails from China; at 9 a.m. he works on UK-based research; at 3 p.m. sharp he's at the school gate to pick up his son. During a year of solo parenting in Newcastle, he discovered that parenting and autonomous driving are the same problem — learning when to intervene and when to let go, one scenario at a time. This book is his field journal with his 5-year-old son Lucky.
